 August 25           School Begins (practice 6-8:30pm) Meet in Band Room at 6pm

 August 27          Wednesday after-school until 5:30.

August 29           Friday after-school until 5:30.

September 1      Monday (Labor Day) No Practice

September 3      Wednesday after-school until 5:30

September 5      Friday practice after-school, dinner provided, dress, Glass vs. HHS Game, Performance!

ECG BAND stage at Festival Disney

April 19, 2008

 

Congratulations to members of the Disney Festival Band for placing First in their class at the April 19 Festival Disney Concert Bands Festival, at Walt Disney World.  Overall, the band placed in the top 5 out of 22 bands.  For pictures from the trip, Visit the Photo Gallery.   

Spring Concert, May 29, 7pm

Percussion Concert (ECG and LMS), Tuesday, June 10, with LMS Jazz  The LMS and ECG percussion will be doing a joint concert in the ECG Auditorium.  The LMS Jazz will also be performing.

2008 Jazz Night, June 6, 8pm

E.C. Glass High School

The Jazz Ensemble will be holding their annual Jazz Night on Friday, June 6, 8pm, at EC Glass.  Tickets will be $10 for Adults and $6 for students/senior citizens.  See a Jazz Ensemble member or call Mr. Seipp at 522-3712 to reserve tickets.  This event will likely sell-out, so don't delay!  

This semester, the Jazz Ensemble has held recent performances for Paul L. Dunbar School for Innovation and James River Day School.  They will also be performing for distinguished guests of the Boonsboro Country Club golf tournament, held June 6. 

The Lynchburg Classic   The members of the Lynchburg Classic Committee and the E.C. Glass and Heritage High School Band Boosters, are proud to invite your band to participate in the 32nd Annual Lynchburg Classic Marching Band Competition.  The Classic will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2008 in the beautiful 15,000 seat Lynchburg City Stadium.    Exhibition performances by the Heritage Pride, E.C. Glass Marching Band, and the Heritage High School Marching Band.  First band plays at 4pm.  Prior to the start, the National Anthem will be performed by the Lynchburg City Schools Middle School Bands.

VOLUNTEER INFORMATION

Concessions- We will need at least 8 parents to help out with concessions at each of the five home football games Contact: Laura Bailey @ (434) 384-1557 or email: lparkbailey@aol.com 

Chaperones- In addition to the five home football games we will need chaperones for four out-of-town competitions.  Contact Renae Hoffman at rph924@aol.com or phone at 386-8294.

Uniforms- We need your help before and after each performance organizing uniforms. Contact: Susie Wassum @ (434) 384-2804 or email: skwass@comcast.net

Service/Prop Crew- We need at least 12 people to help load and unload our equipment for home football games and competitions. (See schedule) Contact:

Lynchburg Classic - In addition to concessions, Mr. Seipp needs parents to fill a shift on Saturday, September 27 in the following areas:  ticket takers/sellers, program sellers, registration table, and parking.  Contact Ms. Vogel if you can help out at vogeljm@lcsedu.net

Congratulations All-District Band Members

Nineteen students from the E.C. Glass Wind Ensemble participated in the District VI All-District Band on February 2-3. VBODA District VI includes over 16 school districts. The students were selected based on an audition in December.  The event was held in Martinsville and concluded with a concert Saturday evening. One of the guest conductors was an LCS alum (Dunbar and ECG), Dr. John Graulty, who is currently the Music Department Chair at Delaware State University.
